The graph shown above is from an Axial Fatigue Test. For this test, bolt samples are cycled between two load levels and the numbers of cycles to failure is recorded. The range for the load levels is varied to create an S-N curve. Fatigue testing can be valuable for evaluating part design and manufacturing techniques.
